Mar. 17, Women at the Well Ministries, Athens, TN

Posted on March 20, 2017 by Bob Sorge

Friday: Today I fly to Chattanooga, grab a rental, and drive to Athens, TN. I’m scheduled to speak at three venues this weekend:

Friday night: An annual banquet for Women at the Well Ministries. This banquet is a fundraiser for their outreach to women in need.

Saturday morning: A one-day women’s conference at Riceville Baptist Church, Riceville, TN.

Sunday morning: A local church in Etowah, TN.

The weekend began by meeting a sister at the Teen Challenge conference back in July. She invited me to their annual banquet, and then also found placement for me in a couple other venues. I’m looking forward to the weekend of ministry.

Saturday evening: I came here to Athens TN primarily for the Friday night banquet. It was a grand affair, a fundraiser for this ministry Women At The Well. They have a fantastic history of helping women who struggle with addictions. Marvelous stories. My heart was moved, I was so pleased to partner with them this weekend. I spoke on waiting on the Lord. In the midst of the message I told the story of how the Lord visited my parents on March 17, 2017. It was the 47-year anniversary of that historic day in our family, when God visited my Dad with the glory of revelation and visited my Mom with the power of healing. And how I am waiting on the Lord for Him to visit our family again. At the close of the message we showed the baseball film and then we prayed for our families.

Mar. 14 Luke 18 Project, Kansas City

Tuesday evening: This afternoon’s class at Luke 18 Project (at IHOPKC) went well. The group was very eager and easy to minister to. I spoke on the secret place, and the Lord helped us all. I’m so grateful to the Lord for every opportunity I have to pour into young adults.

Mar. 12, Trinity Assembly of God, Clay NY

Saturday: This afternoon I am going to Syracuse, NY, where I am scheduled to minister Sunday in both morning and evening services. (So I won’t be returning home this weekend until Monday.) The church is called Trinity Assembly of God. In December, Pastor Tom went to the doctor with pain in his chest area, and was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. He passed away in February. So this church has suddenly had their pastor taken from them. This will be my first time at this church.

Sunday 2:30 pm: Excellent service this morning. Once again, the congregation responded so warmly to the baseball film. At the close, I called the entire congregation forward, we expressed a collective response to the Lord, and sang a song together. It seemed to be a meaningful time for this church family that is still in grief.

I’ll be collected at 5:30 pm for tonight’s 6:00 pm meeting.

Sunday 10:00 pm: Tonight I felt inclined to speak on “Illegal Prayers,” for me if for no one else. I think it was for some more than others. Almost everyone came forward at the end, however, to express their response to the Lord. A sweet time of worship, word, and fellowship. This church is holding together very well in the journey of grief. I feel enriched to have such a sweet family of saints now a part of my heart and history in God.

Thursday evening: Had a marvelous session today with the Simeon Company at IHOP. The Lord gave me great flow in the delivery, His grace was very sweet.

Mar. 7, Luke 18 Project, IHOP-KC

Posted on March 13, 2017 by Bob Sorge

Tuesday afternoon: This morning I spoke to a group of campus leaders who are in KC over their spring break to get recharged with their organization, Luke 18 Project. I spoke on the Secret Place. The Lord really helped us, the students seemed to connect real well with the message and the call to the secret place. I return next week to the same ministry, but next week will be a totally different group (because not all colleges have spring break on the same week).

Mar. 3-5, Faith Tabernacle Church, Lockport, NY

Posted on March 06, 2017 by Bob Sorge

Friday: This morning I am flying to Buffalo NY and then driving up to Lockport. This will be what is I think my fourth visit to Faith Tabernacle. This will be my first time at Faith, though, under their new pastor, Craig Campbell. I’m looking forward to being with Craig, and hoping to maybe see Wayne Dent as well, the former pastor who still lives in the area.

Weekend schedule:

Friday night service to which other churches have been invited.

Saturday morning breakfast meeting for the church family only.

Sunday morning

Friday 1:30 pm: Already I have a story to tell. When I boarded the flight from KC to Detroit, I gave my jacket to the flight attendant. As we were landing she gave it back to me. I threw it on real fast as we were deplaning (everybody deplanes in a frenzy, as you know), and was down the concourse a consider piece when it occurred to me, these sleeves are long. It was the wrong jacket! Also a black leather jacket, but not mine. So I went to the Delta Club desk and presented my predicament to them. The gal looked at me like a deer in headlights. She didn’t seem to have a clue how to connect me with the other gentleman on the plane who now had my jacket. (He would be one of 12 passengers in the First Class cabin.) I left her to work on it. Then it occurred to me. The gentleman sitting next to me also was given a jacket, and he was large enough to fit the jacket I now had. So I went back and said to the agent, I wonder if the guy who was in seat 3B might have my jacket. Turns out, she had a way to look him up and send a text to him. And yes, he was the man! I don’t think he had awakened yet to the fact that he had the wrong jacket until he got her text. He’s at another place in the airport, and as I type this out to you, the agent is on her way to swap out our jackets. Big smile. Like I said, when it comes to travel, there’s ALWAYS something new to experience.

Saturday afternoon: So far we’ve had two excellent meetings. Those who have come have been eager and attentive, it’s a joy to minister to such excellent saints. They’re taking me out for pizza tonight (good NY pizza, can I hear an amen?), and then tomorrow morning is our concluding service.

Sunday 3:00 pm: Greetings from the Buffalo airport. We had a great time together this morning in the Lord’s house. Good spirit of worship, a healthy sense of family in the congregation, good anointing upon the word, good response at the altar afterwards. So I’m coming home with a heart full of thanksgiving. Craig and Jennie are doing a fabulous job of leading this congregation, they’re a young couple with much potential. Pray for them and for this church.

Tuesday night: A quick report on tonight. Had a great time with the Fire In The Night interns at IHOPKC. The session was strong in the Spirit, and I am trusting for eternal fruit.
